Black Malt eXtra is the darkest malt in the BEST Black Malt series. The intensive roasting process produces colors and flavor components that give the beer a black to deep black color and nuances of black coffee or strong espresso. Black Malt eXtra does not make the foam darker either and complies with the specifications of the German Reinheitsgebot.
PRODUCT FEATURES:
Flavor: Dark chocolate, espresso, cocoa and coffe aroma. Used to produce Schwarzbier, Bock, Alt, Brown Ale, Porter and all other very dark to deep black beer styles with an intensive roast note.

STORAGE CONDITIONS AND USAGE INSTRUCTION:
Malt should be stored in a clean, cool (< 22 °C), dry (< 35 RH %) and pest free environment.

Produced from malting quality barley. Carefully roasted to add coffee-brown color, espresso-like bouquet, dark-beer aroma, and body to finished beer.
Black Malt is produced by roasting pilsner malt. Final temperature is more than 200 °C. The amylolytic activity of Black Malt is zero. The amount of fermentable extract is low. The flavor of Black Malt is harsh but less acrid than that of roasted barley. Burnt and smoky flavors are strong.
